01A theme for every year
Life moves in 9-year cycles. Each year in the cycle has its own theme, called your Personal Year: year 1 for beginnings, year 5 for change, year 9 for finishing up and letting go. Knowing which year you're in helps you choose the right things at the right time.
02How to calculate it
Take your birth day and birth month, pair them with the year you're looking at (not your birth year), reduce each part, then add them and reduce to a single digit.
Example: born 15 August, year 2026
- Day 15 → 6
- Month August (8) → 8
- Year 2026 → 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10 → 1
- Add them: 6 + 8 + 1 = 15 → 1 + 5 = 6
= 2026 is a Personal Year 6
Did you know?
Many schools change the Personal Year on your birthday. The free calculator on this site uses the calendar year, January to December, so it's easy to plan at the start of the year.
